A rich Catholic community that’s bigger than campus.

Catholic from the bottom up

The city of Steubenville is Catholic to its core. From the University on the hill to the integrated parish life of faculty and staff, to the Catholic social teaching that undergirds the downtown revitalization effort, this community encourages and stretches Catholics not only to understand the faith but to live it in incredible ways. Come study and work with Catholics who never stop striving for holiness.

Living in community

By sharing houses with their classmates, students will form deep relationships that will last a lifetime. Not only will our students live in community with each other, they’ll be part of a greater community of non-students. This will require being a good neighbor and will embed the students in real relationships.

Built on the Sacraments

Our students will have access to daily Mass, regular confession, and perpetual adoration at the local parish. They won’t simply interact with other students, they’ll meet enthusiastic priests, model spouses, and troublesome kids. They’ll get to see what life will be like after college and begin to practice the virtues, rather than merely studying them.

Events and Opportunities

Students will have the opportunity to hear talks by great Catholic speakers, attend events such as the First Friday festival in historic downtown Steubenville, and join in community projects such as the local farmers market, community gardens, and homeless outreach.

Even More Nearby

Steubenville is located within an hour of downtown Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is a thriving and growing city that offers our students access to artistic, musical, culinary, and other cultural activities—there’s even a zoo. An hour or so the other direction brings you to a massive lake complex for those who like the outdoors, and Amish country for the builders and craftsmen. There’s always more to explore.
